Chorez is a family chore and allowance tracker. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. We built Chorez to hold as little data as possible and to never sell it.
We use the information above solely to operate the app's features — running your family's chore board, tracking balances, sending the notifications you turn on, and letting a parent review photo proof. We do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Chorez never processes payments or moves money. When a parent taps "pay," the app opens your own Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal so you send the money directly, exactly as you would by hand. Chorez is not a party to that transaction, takes no fee, and never sees your card or bank details. The optional Chorez Pro subscription is billed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive your payment card information.
Your data is stored on our own secured cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) in the United States. It is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. We use a single analytics and diagnostics processor, described below.
To fix bugs and understand which features are used, Chorez uses PostHog, a third-party product-analytics and error-diagnostics service. We deliberately limit what is sent to it: anonymous usage events (for example, "app opened" or "paywall shown"), the app version and device type, and crash/error reports — associated only with an opaque, random account identifier. We do not send your family members' names, email addresses, photos, chore descriptions, or payment handles to it. This information is used solely to improve the app and diagnose problems. It is never sold and is never used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Chorez is designed for a parent or guardian to manage on behalf of their household. A parent creates and controls each family member's profile. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and children are not asked for an email address or contact details. A parent can remove any family member's profile at any time.
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
